Dodgers Trade Ryan Theriot to Cardinals for Blake Hawksworth

Just months after acquiring second baseman Ryan Theriot, the Los Angeles Dodgers trade him to the St. Louis Cardinals for relief pitcher Blake Hawksworth.

That means Juan Uribe will be a starting second baseman for the 2011 season. I still don't understand why Ned Colletti traded for Theriot. He could have traded for Lilly without including the two second baseman.

Hawksworth will be 28 at the start of next season. He spent two seasons with the Cardinals. Making 67 relief appearances and eight starts, with a 4.07 ERA over 130 1/3 innings. Dodgers bullpen struggled last season, and this is the first step to try to improve it.

Michael Jordan Responds To Lebron "Maybe You Should Rise"

Brand New Mash-Up Video including Michael Jordan & Lebron:

Michael Jordan has a few words of wisdom for Lebron, in this mash up of Nike's wonderful ad's "Maybe" and "Rise".

Created by: Tom Hinueber
 If you read the original description, this is in fact a mash-up and I never represented it as anything but. Counting all the views on stolen videos we are well over 2 million in just 6 days, a lot of the titles on the stolen videos are things like "Michael Disses Lebron" Which tells me people might get the wrong impression. So I'm setting the record straight, this is not affiliated with Nike, Lebron, Michael Jordan or any of their brands. This was created by myself, Tom Hinueber as an artistic expression. That being said I appreciate everything you've been saying in the comments section and will be making more videos shortly when I'm not swamped with work and school.

Thank you all, as a film student working hard at his craft, I cannot tell you how inspiring some of your comments have been to me.
 Great video by Tom.

Derek Anderson's Post Game Interview... Better than his MNF Performance?

If you didn't watch the 27-6 San Francisco 49ers victory over the Arizona Cardinals tonight, it's okay because you didn't miss much.

The exciting part of the night was Arizona Cardinals quarterback Derek Anderson's press conference. He was talking to one of his lineman during the 4th quarter of the blowout and the camera's caught him smiling. One reporter had the nerve to call him out on it.

Dodgers Off-Season Signings - Newest Addition (Juan Uribe)

Dodgers have been a little busy this off-season trying to find a power bat and pitching, both in the bullpen and rotation.

Dodgers sign Ted Lilly to a three-year deal. This rotation could be great along with Kershaw, Billingsley, Kuroda, and Garland. {Link} {My Link}

Dodgers sign Jay Gibbons to a one-year deal. Gibbons was a great late season call-up last season, hopefully he can fill in when one of our OF need a rest. {Link}

Dodgers sign Hiroki Kuroda to a one-year deal. This will most likely be his final season in the states. {Link}

Dodgers sign Nishijima and Takano to Minor League contracts. Both very young pitchers from Japan and hopefully they can work their up into the rotation in a few years. {Link}

Dodgers sign Dana Eveland to a Minor League contract. Didn't have much success with the Athletics and i don't expect anything from him. {Link}

Dodgers sign Jon Garland as their Fifth Starter. It's a one-year deal with a club option for 2012. {Link}

The newest Dodger addition is Juan Uribe. He's a utility player who just came off a World Series win with the San Francisco Giants. With Casey Blake getting up there in age and Theriot not a power hitting 2B, this gives the Dodgers some more power. {Link}

Just waiting to see who the Dodgers bring in to help out our biggest problem, the bullpen. I like the Uribe and Garland signings so far. I just hate how much they gave to Uribe, 3 years / $21 million.

Kobe Takes Role As Grinch This Christmas

Wade, Lebron, Bosh and the rest of the "great" Heat team are coming to Staples Center this Christmas to play against the Los Angeles Lakers. At the beginning of the season, this match-up was one you wouldn't want to miss. But now that we're a month into the season, the Heat aren't who we thought they were. They are struggling against mediocre teams and have a record of (8-6).

It's a new role for Kobe and the Lakers as they will most likely be the fan favorites to win this game across the world. No matter what record the Heat have when Christmas comes around, everyone will still be tuning in to this game to watch Kobe, Gasol, Wade and Lebron.
The Los Angeles Lakers will appear in their 12th straight Christmas Day appearance.

There will be one difference with Kobe on this special day. He'll be wearing these "Grinch" shoes when he steps on the court.

World Of Jenks: Season 1

World of Jenks was one of the best shows on television. If you didn't watch the first season, you missed out. It premiered on Sept. 13, 2010 and ended on November 22, 2010 with an hour long episode.

It's not the average MTV show, like Jersey Shore or Jackass. It's documentary television.

"Every young person I meet has a unique way of speaking to our generation. Their story is personal but their message is universal: to make a difference and leave their own unique stamp on society. World of Jenks represents the voice of a generation..."
MTV's biography of Andrew Jenks:
I am a 24-year-old filmmaker.

When I was nineteen years old I moved into a nursing home for over a month and documented what life was like when you are near the end. What began as a low-budget summer project turned into a feature documentary that went on to premiere on HBO and play in theaters around the world. As I received emails and letters from viewers who profoundly related to the senior citizens in the film, I couldn't help but think, "I also want to tell the stories of my generation. I want to be a filmmaker that is able to capture what my generation thinks, how they act and what they ultimately stand for." This became the inspiration behind my new MTV show, World Of Jenks.

2) "Can't Make Me Be" - Follows a 20-year-old with autism named Chad.

4) "Fifty Fists" - Follows a MMA fighter named Anthony Pettis.
5) "Freedom's Flight" - Follows Brogan who volunteers for an animal rescue program.

10) "Seaching For VV Brown" - Follows a British sensation singer named VV Brown.
11) "Fruit Loops For Dinner" - Follows a rising comedian in New York City named Dan.

Every single episode gives the viewers an insight look at the lives of a specific character. After watching each episode, i have a new look on the life of these people. It's totally different from what we just view them as on TV. They go through struggles that none of us would ever imagine.

This show has been an inspiration and is an outstanding series.

No word yet if another season has been picked up.

2011 Dodgers Coaching Staff Announced

 I'm happy that Davey Lopes is returning, but I'm going to miss Larry Bowa, though.

The 2011 Dodger coaches:

Rick Honeycutt – Pitching Coach (sixth season)
Dave Hansen – Hitting Instructor (first season)
Trey Hillman – Bench Coach (first season)
Ken Howell – Bullpen Coach (fourth season)
Jeff Pentland – Hitting Coach (fourth season)
Davey Lopes – First Base Coach (first season)
Tim Wallach – Third Base Coach (first season)
Manny Mota – Coach (32nd season)
Rob Flippo – Bullpen Catcher (10th season)
Mike Borzello – Bullpen Catcher (fourth season)

From the Dodgers press release:
The Los Angeles Dodgers today announced their Major League coaching staff for the 2011 campaign under new manager Don Mattingly. The staff consists of four coaches that will be entering their first season on the Dodgers' big league staff, including two former Major League managers and four coaches that have served a combined 42 years with the Dodgers on the Major League coaching level. The staff has logged 176 combined seasons playing, coaching or managing in the Major Leagues.
"I'm extremely excited about this coaching staff, which has a great combination of experience and youth that will create a positive environment for our team," said Mattingly. "We've been able to reach back and bring in a number of coaches with Dodger roots and that's one of the things that was very important to us. Not just the quality of the people and the experience they bring with them, but the history of this organization - where it came from and where we want to go."

Blake Griffin is the Real Deal

I went to the Clippers/Knicks game last night. Blake Griffin put on a show for everyone in attendance.

I'll let the videos speak for themselves.

Blake had career highs in points with 44 and assists with 7. He also had 15 rebounds. He's the 4th rookie in the modern era to have 40+ points and 15+ rebounds in the same game.

Clippers still lost the game 124-115 and extended their losing streak to 9 games. They are (1-13), which is the worst record in the NBA.

2010-2011 Best Laker Season Ever?

I know it's very early in the season, but after watching their first 3 games..... it made me wonder.
                                                                                                          Getty Images
Is it possible for this 2010-2011 Laker team to break the 72 wins record that the Bulls set in 95-96 or can they break the 33-game win streak set by the Lakers in 71-72?

We won't really know until January comes around. How will this team play against the Heat, Celtics, or Thunder? They also have the fewest back-to-back games this season. (15)
It's most likely Phil Jackson's last season... why not make it a memorable one?

The Lakers finally have a bench that know what they are doing (except for Sasha). No more Farmar shooting brinks from downtown  and Sasha is getting less playing time. Lakers made some key additions to the team in the off-season.

Adding Steve Blake and Matt Barnes have been great pick-ups so far this season.

Fisher is getting up there in age and hasn't been able to keep up with the young point guards like Aaron Brooks, so it's Steve Blake's job to contain the opposing PG. Fisher is definitely a big time playoff guy, so i'm not too concerned with how he does during the season. Blake can hit that big 3 when the Lakers need it.

Matt Barnes reminds me of Ron Artest. Both play excellent defense and hustle to get every loose ball on the court. I love the energy that Barnes brings onto the court and Artest's defense is still one of the best in the NBA.

It's obvious that Shannon Brown worked on his outside shooting this off-season. He's shooting .522 from the field and averaging over 2 steals per game (2nd on the team behind Ron-Ron).
The one guy that has been playing the best this season is Lamar Odom. Mr. Double-Double in all 3 games and even had 17 rebounds on Friday in Phoenix. Once Andrew Bynum returns to the lineup, Odom's numbers will probably decrease but he's making the best of his playing time right now.
Pau Gasol is showcasing why he's an elite big man. He's scoring at will under the basket and averages 25.6 points per game. Gasol also leads the Lakers in assists and is the best passing center in the league today.
Kobe's numbers are down but he's still having fun out there. He's second on the team in scoring and assist. The only problem with him right now is that he's still forcing up shots. When you have a supporting cast like Kobe does, it's not a bad thing to find a better option, but that's Kobe for you. As long as the Lakers are winning, Kobe will be a happy man.

Kobe says his knee is 100% and stop worrying about him. I'm with Phil on this one and still think Kobe needs some time to rest those injuries, but that won't happen.

Injury Report
Bynum is expected to return after Thanksgiving and Luke Walton is set to return tomorrow. I want Bynum's presence back in the lineup.

Can't wait to see how the rest of the 3-Peat Journey plays out...

Go LAKERS!
